Mr. Xiao Ming He, a music director, conductor, composer and concert pianist who earned his Masters degree in conducting from Welsh College of Music and Drama, U.K and his B.A. in composition and piano from National Wuhan Academy of Music P.R China. He has become a member of “Music Teachers’ Association of California” and “Chinese Music Teacher Association of Northern California” since 2002.  Currently, he is the conductor for California Chinese Orchestra and the music director and conductor for Rong Rong Singer. 

Mr. He has over 25 years of professional experience in both performance and teaching.  He was a Principal Conductor and Composer at the Hunan Radio & Television Orchestra in China.  He had been conducted “Welsh College of Music and Drama Symphony”, “Wuhan Philharmonic Symphony” and “Symphony affiliated with Hunan Performing Ensemble”.  He also composed many pieces of orchestral and vocal music for both cinema and television.  He has been researching and composing digital music while teaching piano and conducting since coming to US. He has made some CDs of violin and electronic music as well as composing accompaniments for CD’s for eminent Chinese musicians, such as Hu Xiaoping and Yang, Ming-Sheng.  He has written and arranged more than ten choral works that have been performed by many chorus groups in the Bay Area.  He has been the music director for a number of chorus groups and Orchestras around the bay area.  He has conducted choral and orchestral performances, also played piano accompaniment to vocal and instrumental soloists at many concerts.

The class covers all major musicianship areas including piano technique, practice techniques, chords/harmony, rhythm, ear training, improvisation, sight-reading, arranging, songwriting, performing, music appreciation and composition. Although classical music is his primary focus, he teaches all styles of written music. His teaching style emphasizes on understanding and appreciating the passion and imagination behind music and bringing out the best music from every student and playing with relaxation and expression.  He also encourage student to strive for musical excellence.
